MAX: [00:00:41] First thing I want to say, how ironic that we have had to push back the
launch of this broadcast because we've been busy working.

SELF TAPES:
MAX: [00:00:56] . How do you go with self-tapes you when you're alone in a room with a camera? That sounds really weird to everyone who's not an actor.
SAM: [00:01:11] I dont know, I think that some people prefer tapes because it's not the
stress of going to an audition room meet all the other, you know, people applying being
like, oh, my God, yes. But like, I don't know, I feel like because there is that adrenaline
that's pumping there during an actual audition, in front of a director and casting agent
and all that, it helps you with the scene.
MAX: [00:01:47] I like them because you can do as many takes as you need.

ACCENTS:
MAX: [00:02:29] I had to do one recently. It was just a small 50 worder. First of all, the agent sent me this message going, can you do an Irish accent.
No, but I'll try. After a while on YouTube, I gave it a nudge and I have to say, I though it
was good. My girlfriend saw it and Emma has just gone... dont... like have you sent
that? Did you send that? Im like yeah.
SAM: [00:02:55] Confidence boost.
MAX: [00:02:58] Don't ever do that again. The next day I get this e-mail. Could you do a
Puerto Rican accent?

THEATRE & STARTING OUR ACTING JOURNEY:
SAM: [00:12:39] It's very different to screen. Yeah. You got like you've got the audience
in front of you. Their there, you can feed of them. With screen you've got the camera
and that's it. But that's the audience is through there but you can't see them.
MAX: [00:12:50] Yeah.
SAM: [00:12:50] But you feed off the audience. It's a whole different feeling. Whole
different. It's almost like. Yeah. You know voice overs are very different to acting in front
of camera of course. A completely different ballgame.
MAX: [00:12:59] Yeah.
SAM: [00:12:59] But there's so much fun. That's how I got into acting.
MAX: [00:13:01] Right.
SAM: [00:13:02] I auditioned for my first production when I was twelve. It absolutely changed my life and that was awesome.

MAX's FIRST THEATRE PRODUCTION:
MAX: [00:15:19] So my first foray into theater happens.
SAM: [00:15:21] Yeah.
MAX: [00:15:22] A while ago. And we're talking off, off, off broadway.
SAM: [00:15:28] like like Sydney. That's how off broadway it is?
MAX: [00:15:31] No, no no no like further. You got to go further like Picton, like an hour
and a half south of Sydney.
SAM: [00:15:40] Yeah.
MAX: [00:15:40] Has a theatre company thats been going for thirty years and needed
to, well they've wanted to put on a production of the odd couple. I love the movie. Love
the TV series. Lot of text, but some great scenes and great comedic moments and i
thought this would be a great test. At least then if I fall off stage I was playing Felix, at
least if I fall off stage and burst into flames or something, no on is going to notice. This
is just me finding my legs, seeing if this is actually where I want to go, can I do it. Will I
fall into a bull of nerves and curtains open and I'm in the fetal position crying?

VOICE OVERS:
SAM: [00:24:01] But that's the thing with voice overs like. I would love, Ive wanted to get
into voiceovers for a couple of years now.
MAX: [00:24:02] And thats gonna be hard because your voice sounds like crap.
SAM: [00:24:10] And that's it guys thanks for listening. Yeah, I've always wanted to do
like characters, like different characters and kind of doing impressions and stuff like that.
I'm not very good, but I love doing it. Yeah.
MAX: [00:24:26] Thats a start.
SAM: [00:24:26] And that dynamic voice idea. How do you changing your voice all that
tone stuff.
MAX: [00:24:30] Yeah.
SAM: [00:24:30] Learning standard American accent, doing actual classes with that. It's
helped me like fall in love with kind of how the voice works and where it sits and where
accents sit. And how the tongue moves and all that stuff, so that's really cool. And I've
wanted to do that. But the thing is, it's it's a catch 22 because no one is going to higher
you for voiceover jobs unless you've done voice over work.
MAX: [00:24:49] Yeah. So tell how I started...

TVC AUDITIONS:
MAX: [00:28:27] It's like I've been to some casting directors a number of times as, there is one I've been to six times.
SAM: [00:28:39] Oh, yeah. It's weird. Like I've done similar thing not six times to the one that like
into this one or a couple more than once. And you just like if you dont get roles for them
you feel like they hate you or something like but I don't hear back.
MAX: [00:28:58] But the fact that they keep asking you back...
